Whatever road you choose to travel, it is essential that you have something or someone to provide. If you're having fun, the people watching the audition will probably too. Take water, a snack and a book with you, you could be there some time. You might think that you are perfect for the part, but the casting person undoubtedly sees it differently. {You're to tall, to short, to thin, to fat, not old enough, to old, the list goes on and on. Take 3 sentences and read them out load each time looking down for just a glance, before looking up and trying to say as much as you can remember. One other thing to consider is to be kind to the person or people you hear about the audition from. Don't be afraid to make small talk at the audition. Even if you are good at memorization, I don't think it's wise to have a first audition without a script or side, though. You will likely be judged on the following criteria: -Tonal Quality: Does the voice sound focused, clear, open, warm and mature,Presentations:How you present yourself to the judges and Singing style and uniqueness. It may feel uncomfortable, but you need to keep your eyes open, and spend a fair amount of time looking at you critics. It is more fun with a friend, but you can do this exercise to a monologue. At the singing auditions the judges are looking for potential and enthusiasm as much as experience and a "'finished product'. There are some things not to do when reading for the casting director. In getting the audition in the first place, you or your agent are going to have to submit a photo and resume to the casting director.
